Summer LeLaCheur has a BA
in religious studies from Drake.. She began leading
worship at the age of 13 and has served at various
churches since moving to Des Moines. Here at Heartland,
Summer leads worship with a contemporary style of music
to encourage people to draw closer to God.
Summer and her husband Joel are from Bend, Oregon and
came to Des Moines to attend Drake University in 2001.
They recently graduated and now live and work in the Des
Moines area. Summer led worship at several church's
before coming to Heartland. Her passion is to create an
exciting atmosphere where people can connect with God
through worship and to help others do the same.
In their free time Summer and Joel enjoy various outdoor
activities such as frisbee golfing, volleyball, and
swimming and are currently enrolled in a personal
discipleship program call INSTE.
